Veryl (Briggs) Wagaman was born on March 31, 1926 at Iona, South Dakota to Harry and Mary (Hickey) Briggs.

Veryl had two brothers Dwane and Dean. She attended the Iona school through middle school and then attended high school for a while in Gregory. One of Veryl's favorite things to do was to come to Gregory with her folks. She enjoyed taking in a movie when she could.

Veryl was known by many as Sis. Sis had five children Bill, Ronnie, Rodney, Ardean and Rex.

On September 12, 1962, Sis married Emil Wagaman at Buffalo, WY. In 1968 they moved to Gregory. They enjoyed visiting, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Emil passed away in October of 2002. For a time she lived with Bill in Arizona. Sis lived the last several years at White Lake in the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home.
Veryl passed away on June 20, 2016 at the age of 90 years.

Veryl is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Emil, three sons Ronnie "Dude" Lux, Rodney Lux, and Rex Lux, her daughter Ardean Schoenhard, a granddaughter Crystal Gale Schoenhard, and a grandson Clinton Lux.

Veryl is survived by her son Bill Briggs, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service for Veryl Wagaman was held on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at 9 a.m. at Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home with Father Godfrey Muwanga as Celebrant.

Casket bearers were her family and friends.

Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery in Chamberlain, SD.
