Robert Lee Veskrna was born August 9, 1944 in Burke, SD to Gus and Evelyn (Stuckers) Veskrna. Bob grew up on a farm north of Dallas. He attended country school and Winner High School attaining his GED.

Bob was drafted into the Army in 1965. During this time he completed helicopter repair courses earning many awards. Bob served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1968.

Bob married Carol Henneman in 1969. To this union a daughter Shirley was born. Bob farmed with his dad and later started his own operation. He continued to farm until 2006 when he retired and moved to Winner.

Bob was very involved in the American Legion and took pride in attending the various functions. At an early age, he learned to play the accordion and entertained at many get togethers. Bob had a love for cars. He had a '79 T Bird that he took to car shows and won many trophies.

Bob passed away at his home on September 16, 2016 at the age of 72.

He was preceded in death by his parents Gus and Evelyn Veskrna, his sister Betty, and brother Dean.

Bob is survived by daughter Shirley Veskrna of Unionville, MO; three grandchildren Derek (Janae) Isbell of Carl Junction, MO, Christian Isbell of Carl Junction, MO, and Casey (Joshua) Sherrouse of Ft. Smith, AR; three sisters Judy (John) Kuckleburg, Rapid City, SD, Joyce Riley, Oglesby, TX, and Anne (Roger) Gustafson, Gillette, WY; one brother Allen (Kimberly) Veskrna, Gregory, SD, and several nieces, nephews, and step great grandchildren.

Memorial services for Robert Veskrna of Winner were held Friday, September 30, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Kotrba-Smith Funeral Home in Gregory with Derek Isbell officiating.

Tess Kuckleburg and Sarah Kuckleburg were in charge of registration.

Recorded music was "Amazing Grace" by Alan Jackson.

Military honors were presented by the Gregory and Dallas American Legions.
