Tribute & Message From The Family

Message From The Family

Thank you for your support during this difficult time. Please enhance this tribute to Dave by adding your memories and photos.

David Lee Keiser was born on February 5, 1952 to Dale and Ruby Keiser. He grew up on the family farm just north of Dallas with his siblings Barb, Sally, and Steve. As a youngster, he discovered his love for the outdoors—ranging from farming, caring for cattle, fishing, but most of all, hunting.

He married Trish (Von Seggern) Keiser on November 6, 1971 and raised two children, Nichole and Christopher. Dave spent countless hours coaching baseball and softball to Nikki, Chris, and their friends, building a sand volleyball pit to keep kids entertained and from getting into too many shenanigans, and tickled and teased everybody (Wet Willy, anyone?). Nikki and Chris share their Dad's love of hunting, shooting pistols, and being outdoors.

Dave ran a successful hunting business, Double K Guide Service, where he and countless hunters played pranks and woke every morning in pursuit of the perfect kill. As an avid countryman, Dave could always be found planting, combining, and taking care of his cattle, but more than anything he loved spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them how to drive, shoot, and farm.

Dave's close friends always looked to him for a good laugh, a great story, and an even better "shot". His quirky chuckle, easy charisma, and unending generosity touched the lives of all of those that he encountered.

While we mourn the loss of this fearless father, grandfather, friend and mentor, we more importantly celebrate the fact that he lived life to the fullest, regretted nothing, and loved with his whole heart. He will be greatly missed, but will always be remembered by his robust laughter, in the ring of gunshots, and by his storytelling.

Left to cherish Dave's memory are Trish, daughter Nikki (Jeff), son Chris (Amy), his six grandchildren (Mariah, Kelsey, Zach, Cassidy, Colt, and Landon), his father Dale, and sisters Barb (Mike), and Sally.

Preceding Dave in death were his mother Ruby, brother Steve, brother-in-law Steve Wooden.

And as Dave would say, "SHOOT TO KILL!"
